ExpositieShared Imaginations is a collective exhibition curated by Lama Aldayoub, a multidisciplinary
artist and program coordinator working with De Vrolijkheid.
Bringing together works developed through a series of creative workshops held for teens and
youngsters in AZC Budel Cranendonck, the workshops coordinated by Lama Aldayoub from
Stichting De Vrolijkheid and led by workshop leaders: Marieke van Heesbeen, Galina
Evgenieva Petrova, Neshat Nilda Fallahrafie, Pieter-Max Schultz, and Tina van der Helm ,
the exhibition highlights collaborative processes between young and teen participants aged 13
to 25. Through drawing, painting, printing, collage and mixed media, participants explored
storytelling, identity, and imagination creating works that move between personal expression
and collective creation.
At the heart of the exhibition is the idea of shared authorship: where individual voices meet,
overlap, and transform into something larger than the sum of their parts. The works presented
reflect moments of play, experimentation, and connection, offering insight into how young
people shape and reimagine their worlds together.
Participants from AZC Budel: Munir Saker, Jad Hadad, Youssed Hishmeh, Ritaj Haydar,
Rital Haydar, Jamila Mera’ee, Oubada Diar Bakry, Jihan, Seren, Rana, Munera, Hosam
Azar, Carl Calvin, Behnaz.
Alongside the participants’ works, Lama presents a couple of her own pieces, developed in
dialogue with the workshops. These works echo and respond to the collective process, blurring
the boundaries between artist and facilitator, and emphasizing art as a space for exchange,
collaboration, and shared imagination.
