ExpositiePaola Tásai (Chihuahua, México) north-mexican interdisciplinary artist, cultural manager and researcher. She compose music, soundscapes, poetry and performance, often inspired by my roots. She has presented her creations internationally and received the Chihuahua Prize for Innovation in Arts and Sciences (2022). With three indie folk albums (Primer Viaje, 2018; Eeká Nawajíala, 2019; Ave Migrante, 2024) and projects such as Naó: Spiral Sound Healing (2022) she explores sound as a space of memory, resilience, and transformation.
In times when we legitimately question our way of life, returning to our origins and roots helps us to recognize ourselves collectively and to build new paths based on our identity.
Naó is an interdisciplinary work of audiovisuals, soundscapes, songs, and performance based on the poetic work of Marisol Rivas Castillo (poet in the Ódami language), Dolores Batista (poet in the Rarámuri language), Brenda López Santaneño (poet in the Warijó language), and the traditional medicine knowledge of Pima healer Esperanza Flores Sierra, all members of Indigenous communities in Chihuahua, northern Mexico.
